Magazine inspirations

This image has inspired me as I feel the photo on it really makes the school magazine look like it is a friendly place. I personally don't like the colours of the text or backgrounds and I feel that lighter colours would make the magazine seem more welcoming. The idea of the picture of the boy studying on the front makes it obvious it is a place for learning. I will use this idea in my own magazine, possibly an older student tutoring a younger student.

Prelimininary Task

For my first part of media course work I have been set a task which consists of creating and designing a school magazine front cover. I am working in a group of 3 with Katy and Olivia and we have all decided on specific roles that we will take to create a good magazine cover. My role is the 'Graphic Designer' which is the person who will actually create the magazine. Our idea so far is to have an image on the front cover of a Year 11 student helping to tutor a Year 7 with homework and class work. The audience that we are creating this for is 'The Misbourne School' so I will have to make it suitable for the whole age range from Year 7 to Year 13.
